Friends Make a Difference

     As Friends of the Library, we promote and support the services of the Wilmington Library. 

              In the past, the Friends have contributed: 

  • Equipment for the Library.
  • Books and audio-visual materials for public use.
  • 1800 hours annually of volunteer time for improved Library services.
  • Expenses for Literacy Volunteers of America students and tutors to attend national conferences.
  • Publicity for Library events and advocacy for Library services.
  • Major funding in support of the Library's "Focus on Quality" Capital/Endowment Campaigns.

A wide variety of books, CDs, tapes, records and books on tape are available 
Selections change daily and are offered at tremendous savings: 
$1.00 for most hardbacks and $.50 for paperbacks.

Moving? House Cleaning? Downsizing?  
Donate Your Books 
The Friends of the Wilmington Library would like to have your donated books, records, tapes and CDs.  Your donations help fund equipment for the Library.  Drop your clean, used books at the Wilmington Library's Main Branch on Rodney Square or call Neda Green coordinator for the Friends of the Wilmington Library at 571-7407 to make arrangements for pick up.  We gladly provide a tax receipt. 
**Exclusions: we cannot accept textbooks, encyclopedias or magazines.
